Lee Mavers Thinking About Recording Second La's Album, Fans Too Busy With Kids and Mortgages to Get Excited

Songwriter and noted audio perfectionist Lee Mavers has been playing with Pete Doherty and Babyshambles of late, and band drummer Adam Ficek says that Mavers wants to record the second La's album with them. While it will be interesting to see what two decades in the wilderness has done for a talent like Mavers, it's still a little hard to get overly excited about the project. First off, the last time I definitely remember hearing the La's is in So I Married an Axe Murder. Ending a layoff that long would be like J.D. Salinger up and writing another book. Fun to think about, but it's probably  not going to happen. Secondly, Mavers isn't exactly reliable when it comes to hitting the studio, and Pete Doherty might not be the type of facillitator he needs. Hopefully, Mavers will be able to rekindle the flame, but the realistic odds on this album coming out are about the same as Mike Myers teaming up with Michael Richards and Nancy Travis to make another romantic comedy.
