Led Zeppelin will never play again, says Jimmy Page's manager

Twenty-four hours after declaring that Led Zeppelin would tour and record with a new singer, Jimmy Page's manager Peter Mensch has recanted his statement, and now claims the group will never play together again.

"Led Zeppelin are over. If you didn't see them in 2007, you missed them. It's done. I can't be any clearer than that." They tried out a few singers, but no one worked out. That was it. The whole thing is completely over now. There are absolutely no plans for them to continue. Zero. Frankly, I wish everybody would stop talking about it," Mensch said.
Really? You'd like everyone to stop talking about it? Well, until yesterday, no one was talking about it, then you came out and said they'd record with a new singer. No one's adding fuel to the fire but you, Mensch.

At the very least, this can calm down rumors that the guy from Alter Bridge isn't going to be along for the ride. But again, none of this really matters until we hear it from a band member, who are all remaining mum. [MusicRadar.com]
