Chip off the old block Jason Bonham, who has taken over his dad's drum stool for the reconstituted Led Zeppelin, has revealed that not only may there be more performances in the future, there might even be a new album. He has confirmed that he's been hashing out new material with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, but Robert Plant has not yet taken part. Will bluegrass siren Alison Krauss release her hold on our hirsute hero and free him to rejoin his former bandmates? Will Bonham be able to resist the call to return to his VH-1 supergroup Damnocracy (remember that name, it'll make a great trivia question one day)? What is David Coverdale doing right now? This whole Zepp drama is interesting to me. On one hand i'm a big fan and i really want them to do the "super mega happy ending". Like, if they played enough shows that someday they can perform cheaply enough that degenerate musicians like me can afford to go. And they recorded some incredible record which makes the wait forth it.
But they aren't doing it. Especially Plant, who you didn't see strung up on a scaffold playing "Whole Lotta Love" in a monkey suit with British "Soul" singing tart. I wonder if the feeling in the band is something like i felt being the first kid on the block to have Optimus Prime. The more kids wanted to play with it the more i wanted it to myself. I was worried they'd break it or steal it. All and all i wanted to keep my toy to myself.
