If you're a Led Zeppelin fan (one who doesn't live in the U.K.), you might agree with Jimmy Page's sentiment expressed to Billboard that if they're to put the brakes on their reunion after a single show in London on December 10, they "probably shouldn't have taken the genie out of the bottle," and teased the rest of us.
But if that does sounds like you, your unrest might've been put at ease had you seen The Cult play in Cincinnati on Saturday, November 10, when Ian Astbury told his unsuspecting masses, "We'll be back next year because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ''¦ the name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." One fan took up Astbury's game of Soft-Shoe Silhouettes and shot back "Led Zeppelin," to which Astbury nodded and raised his arm in the air.
True, this gesture could be seen as being slightly cryptic (as any gesture indicating a Led Zeppelin tour with The Cult should be), and there is still no comment from spokespeople for either bands. However, this does come after numerous unconfirmed reports that venues in the States have already been reached about the possibility of hosting Led Zeppelin concerts this summer.
So, with or without the Cult, it sounds like there's a pretty good chance that Led Zeppelin will be "Going to California" next year -- or at the very least Cincinnati. [Billboard]
