Last week, TMZ somehow got its hands on the police photo of Rihanna after her alleged conflict with Chris Brown, and now that photo might help Chris Brown’s case, since prospective jurors will have to have not seen the photo before they could be approved. This could mean extra court costs and an extended trial if prosecutors can’t find enough jurors who haven’t seen the photo, and hadn’t formed an opinion on the case.
TMZ allegedly obtained the photo from a court officer, who will probably be fired, for $62,500, a lot of money, sure, but a low sum to receive for selling your soul to TMZ. Police sources are worried what the picture could mean for Rihanna getting justice:
"The most unfortunate aspect of the entire incident is not only the total disrespect for the victim, Rihanna, but the legal ramifications related to jury pool pollution the public revelation of this photo obviously has on the possible upcoming criminal case against alleged attacker, Chris Brown. “Brown, even if guilty, could walk free because of the unauthorized release of this photo,” the unnamed source said.
I’m not sure Brown will walk free, but it could make the trial stretch out to too long lengths. Either way, this won’t help anyone but Chris Brown. [HipHopDX]
