LCD Soundsystem has beefed up the release of new single "Someone Great" into a nice little EP size, which you can listen to in its entirety here. In addition to the title track, the EP contains remixes of other Sound of Silver songs by the likes of Soulwax and Gucci Soundsystem. There's also a live version of "Us V Them" that the band put in for a session at Los Angeles' KCRW. And you can view the video for "Someone Great," a personal favorite song of the year for me from an album that will surely be making many a year end best list.

I'm trying to figure out how Malevich has anything to do with LCD Soundsystem. And the cover designer rotated the painting to make it look more new-wavish. The art historian inside me is crying just a little.

The cover to the EP, the two yellow squares on a white background, are actually, I'm pretty sure, a painting by the early 20th-cent. Russian artist Kazimir Malevich.
