LCD Soundsystem Sets New Album Release Date, Announces Huge Tour

    The first studio album from LCD Soundsystem in seven years sees a September release date.

    After weeks of teasing the album’s imminent release, Mr. James Murphy and gang have finally followed up on their promise and revealed the details surrounding their forthcoming album.

    Announced this morning, LCD Soundsystem’s new album, titled American Dream, will see its official release on September 1 through DFA/Columbia Records. The first from the band in seven years, American Dream will mark the band’s fourth full-length studio release.

    The album will feature 10 new songs including the title track and “Call the Police, which were both unveiled early in May. View the complete tracklist for American Dream below.

    News of the forthcoming album first broke via Reddit. Following a surprise announcement from James Murphy during the band’s Sasquatch! Festival set, users flocked to the LCD Soundsystem subreddit page to divulge the few abstract details the frontman shared. An announcement on the band’s Facebook page followed, confirming that the record was finished and could drop in as early as six weeks.

    In addition to revealing the new album’s release date, the band has also announced a decidedly massive North American and European tour. The tour stops are accompanied by a variety of festival appearances, including Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago and Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans. See the full list of dates below:
