Watch the video for Lavender Diamond's "Open Your Heart"

Spinner has the premiere of the video for Lavender Diamond's "Open Your Heart." Guess what it features? Think Feist. Think Beirut. Think OK Go. Yep--more choreographed dancing! How hot is that in videos right now? Seriously, if you're a band about to make your first video, hire a choreographer right now. One-way ticket to success, I would say.
In this clip (directed by Sia of Zero 7), Lavender Diamond's charming frontwoman Becky Stark rollerskates around a nice old L.A. neighborhood while pianist Steve Gregoropoulos occasionally plinks a tiny piano. The dancing doesn't come until the end, and it isn't as highly stylized as the hoofing in the videos from the other artists mentioned above. Stark ends up at drummer Ron Rege, Jr.'s house, where an egg she's been holding hatches to unveil a chick. Man, I really want to live in this band's universe.
Imagine our Love is out next week.
Stumble It!
