Lavender Diamond film preview

Everybody's favorite utopian L.A. folk-pop band, Lavender Diamond, have been busy making their own cinematic companion to their 2007 album Imagine Our Love. Starring LD's perky, personable frontwoman Becky Stark, the film (also titled Imagine Our Love) is described as "an extravaganza featuring Busby Berkeley-style dance numbers, animation, fanciful costumes and interplanetary ballet." Take that, Iron Man!

On May 27, L.A.'s Silent Movie Theatre (ironically enough) will be the site of the film's first work-in-progress  preview, part of a multi-media evening that will also include performances by Stark, Mia Doi Todd, and Eleni Mandell, a puppet show, a kissing booth, a vintage-clothing raffle, a "super-deluxe dressup photo booth," and a silent art auction of work by LD drummer/acclaimed cartoonist Ron Rege, Jr. Whew.
