In news that will please indie rock fans and New Yorker readers alike, last.fm will be streaming Portishead's new album Third on April 21, a week in advance of its official release. This is the first time last.fm has streamed an album in advance, and last.fm co-founder Martin Stiskel showed incredible music-nerd enthusiasm, exclaiming "It means a lot to us, as Portishead was the first artist we ever uploaded to Last.fm and "Cowboys" from their second album was the first track ever played when we went live in 2002."
Third will be available next Monday at http://www.last.fm/music/portishead/third/.
I've had this album for a little while and I'm just getting around to the listening. It's trippy, mellow...I almost feel like I'm on drugs listening to it.
