Last.fm adds millions of users with widgets

While Facebook seems to be the site that people associate with opening its site up to third party developers, Last.fm has had an open platform architecture since 2003. To highlight its third party applications and widgets Last.fm has launched a section build.last.fm. The company estimates it added 19 million users through third party applications in January. [Hypebot]
