Most of the endless stream of articles about Lana Del Rey have pointed out that she already released an album in 2010 under her real name, Lizzy Grant. That record has been swept under the carpet as her label pushes the forthcoming Born to Die, but it seems Grant/Del Rey is keen for it to surface again.
"People act like it's so shrouded in mystery, the 'forgotten terrible album',” she said, in an interview with BBC Newsbeat. "But if you look on YouTube, all 13 tracks are available with millions of views, so it's not like no-one's heard them. We were all proud of it. It's pretty good."
She went on to say that the Lizzy Grant album should be in stores again, possibly at some point later this year. “I'm re-releasing it, maybe in late summer,” she said. So anyone tired of all the thinkpieces and articles about del Rey better get ready for another flood of interest in her once the hype cycle for Born to Die is over.
