Remember back in 2006 when everyone was saying that Lady Sovereign, the pint-sized Brit, would finally be the artist that would break grime to mainstream U.S. audiences? Well, that never happened (although her “Love Me Or Hate Me” was a minor hit). In the meantime, Sovereign has remained pretty quiet.
That is until now. Lady Sovereign has been hammering out a sophomore album, titled Jigsaw, that will see release on April 7 via Sovereign’s own Midget Records (which will be distributed by EMI). As a bonus, Sovereign has the album’s first single, “I Got You Dancing” available for streaming and free download at her MySpace. The track is like M.I.A. filtered through Dizzee Rascal and an Auto-Tuner. So basically, pretty good.
New look as well. Is Lady Soverign trading in her tomboy appeal? Anyways, I liked Public Warning and am glad to see I'll be back in the new year.
wow... i just saw my comment. obviously i meant to say "glad to see she'll be back." my egocentricity must be coming out.
i'm LOVING THIS TRACk. Nice. like the femme look as well.
