Lady Gaga quickly brushed off the cancellation of her Fame Kills tour with Kanye West by announcing some dates of her own with Kid Cudi. Now, Gaga has spoken out about her relationship with West, which she maintains is still on good terms. “We’re real friends,” she told Rolling Stone.
Gaga also said she won’t be using any of the Fame Kills ideas on the forthcoming tour. "I'm certainly inspired by what we were doing, but I made a decision based on integrity not to use any of the things that we had designed together,” she said. "It just wasn't the right timing [to go on tour with West]. I don't want to embellish on it too much, because I want to respect Kanye's privacy. But we just had our own reasons.”
She also hinted that their paths might converge sometime in the future. “Real friends can make decisions like that,” she said. “And we wanted to keep the momentum going in terms of pop music staying innovative with hip-hop and R&B, and we really wanted to do it, and it just wasn't the right time. But who's to say what will happen in the future?"
