It's no shock by now that Lady GaGa is starting beef with the Catholics (she has angered sectors of the religious community before, especially with last year's controversial music video for her single "Judas") but this time she's going after the head honcho: The Pope.
Last week, Pope Benedict stated "marriage and the family are institutions that must be promoted and defended from every possible misinterpretations of their true nature, since whatever is injurious to them is injurious to society itself," during an address to the French Bishops.
During an interview with Europe 1, the singer discredited the Catholic figurehead's opinions on same-sex relationships, calling them irrelevant. "I think that gay marriage is going to happen. It must. We are not actually equal humanity if we are not allowed to freely love one another," she said, adding, "what the Pope thinks of gay marriage does not matter to the world. It matter to the people who like the Pope and follow the Pope. It is not a reflection of all religious people."
