Lady Gaga earned more than any other female musician in 2011. That impressive statistic has been figured out by Forbes, who just published their list of the Top-Earning Women in Music, which estimates that Gaga brought in a cool $90 million over the course of one year.
It might not be a surprise to find Gaga topping the list—Born This Way has been a huge success, and she has toured extensively throughout 2011—but an eyebrow or two may be raised about how dominant she has become. Taylor Swift, in second place, earned half of what Gaga made, bringing in $45 million.
Some observers may have though Adele would place higher following the gargantuan success of 21, although bouts of ill health have forced her to stay off the road. Other names on the list won’t come as a shock—Beyonce, Katy Perry and Rihanna are still earning bucks and it’s likely to remain that was for the foreseeable future. [Forbes]
