L.A. Today: Men Women & Children

Men Women & Children @ Troubadour, 4/23

Men Women & Children are nothing if not an aptly named group. With at least eight regular members on board, their band name could easily have been the headline of the ad used to recruit new members. Considering their range of influences include Earth, Wind & Fire, Prince and Devo, the band needs at least eight folks to keep its new wave/dance/punk/funk train rollin' along. Live, MW&C are known for their interactive shows and have been known to invite the crowd to stay after the show and chat. Imagine, you can get your groove on and enjoy some entertaining discourse. That's practically a date! Bedouin Soundclash and The Oohlas open the show. The Soundclash's reggae/ska/punk/rock sound jelled with the release of the single "When the Night Feels My Song" in 2004. The Oohlas, whose fuzzy guitars recall 90's shoegaze rock, round out the show with their poppy goodness. (JM)
