Datarock @ Club NME/Spaceland

One of my many entrepreneurial ideas that never came to fruition involved the creation of an alt-disco club, replete with strict but ironic dress code and the hi-hattiest indie rock songs spun all night. So much of the last several new rock movements of late has been danceable, but so many of us uninterested in the dance. So I endorse Club NME Los Angeles, held every Wednesday at Spaceland, as the first step to draw the groove out of Silver Lake Hipster Nation (SLaHN). Fuckers better dance. This particular night includes a live set headlined by Datarock, who got the memo that every third album released in 2007 must come from a Norwegian act. (What'''s going on up there?) Think Devo fronted by David Byrne and you get the idea. (ML)
