Kyp Malone covers Talking Heads for 'Our Show' (Video)
Remember when Kyp Malone from TV on the Radio/Rain Machine reviewed movies for Our Show, introducing his unique burger rating system in the process? Well, the show has got more footage of the singer, presumably shot on the same night at Santos' Party House in New York City, and this time featuring him performing a cover of Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody."
This is a casual performance, perhaps not to be taken too seriously (his backing band are, after all, named Harsh Toke) but offers Malone a chance to wrap his glorious falsetto around one of David Byrne’s most famous compositions. It’s a neat diversion from his twin day jobs, but it would be great to see Malone and the rest of TV on the Radio back together again soon.

It feels a little uneasy at the beginning, but they hit their stride.
This song seems terribly hard to cover, Arcade Fire kind of struggled with it as well... both covers are enjoyable, but just can't quite recreate or adapt the original with the same je ne sais quoi.
