Kurt Cobain's ashes stolen

British tabloid the News of the World is reporting that Kurt Cobain’s ashes have been stolen. Courtney Love kept the remains of the former Nirvana frontman in a pink bag shaped like a teddy bear. An intruder snatched the bag, which also contained a lock of Cobain’s hair, during a break-in at Love’s Los Angeles home.

"I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me,” says Love. “I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what I'll do." Love sold 25% of her stake in Nirvana’s back catalog in 2006, making a cool $50 million in the process. But she claims the ashes were “all I had left of my husband. I used to take them everywhere with me just so I could feel Kurt was still with me. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again." [News of the World]
