Krist Novoselic And Pat Smear Reunite On Stage With Dave Grohl

Foo Fighters played a secret show in Tarzana, California, on Tuesday (Dec. 21), where they played a number of songs from their upcoming album. The show was in an intimate venue filled with just 500 fans (plus Ryan Phillippe and Amanda Seyfried), who were given the ultimate pre-Christmas gift when surviving Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear joined Dave Grohl on stage.

The brief reunion was put together so they could perform the Nirvana song “Marigold,” which was a B-side to the “Heart Shaped Box” single, and Grohl’s sole lead vocal turn in the band. The Foo Fighters singer is clearly feeling nostalgic—Nevermind producer Butch Vig worked on his band’s new record, and Novoselic also features on one track. No YouTube video is available of this show just yet, but it surely won’t be a long wait.
