New Yorkers may still be ruefully staring into their drinks, bemoaning the missed opportunity to see Kraftwerk’s residency at the MoMA earlier this month. But residents of Sao Paulo just got an unexpected chance to see the band play. Ralf Hütter will bring Kraftwerk to Sonar Sao Paulo in May as a replacement for Bjork, who had to pull out due to a throat nodule.
Sonar Sao Paolo will run from May 11-12, and includes appearances from Cee Lo Green, Mogwai, Justice, Chromeo, James Blake, Flying Lotus, DOOM, Four Tet, Rustie and many others. It will be expensive to fly there from the United States, but with that mouthwatering lineup and Kraftwerk promising a full 3D set, it may just be worth it.
