Will Brooklyn be the new location for the Knitting Factory?

On Friday, BrooklynVegan found a sign on the door of the now-defunct Luna Lounge in Williamsburg stating that it will soon be replaced by Knitting Factory entertainment. This had lead many to speculate on whether the Luna Lounge's new owners would serve as the replacement digs for the current Tribeca incarnation of the Knitting Factory.

The New York Press notes that the current location has been in trouble for quite some time (and was rumored to be moving to 14th st. in February). The irony is that, despite the KF's financial troubles, artistically it's currently thriving having just singlehandedly revived No Wave and with Richard Lloyd, Titus Andronicus, and Lee Renaldo slated to come by in the next two weeks. Hopefully this will work itself out in a way that avoids a CBGB-type situation.
