In an interview with Rolling Stone, Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Followill said that the new album he and his two brothers and cousin are recording is both political and nearly finished.
Caleb said that he broke his hand in a fistfight with his brother, and because he was on pills to kill the pain, he wrote better melodies.
“I know I sound like a fucking cock right now, but this is the first time I’ve really been proud of myself, track for track," he told Rolling Stone.
The album also apparently has a political bent, especially tracks like “Crawl.”
“Let’s just say that Sean Penn is gonna like us more,” Followill said.
The still-untitled album is set for a September release, and the band take to the road in support of Pearl Jam for a few dates starting tonight in West Palm Beach. [Rolling Stone]
