Tommy Marth, best known as a saxophone player for Las Vegas-based rockers the Killers, was found dead on Monday at his Vegas home after an apparent suicide. He was 33.
Marth appeared on the Killers’ global tour in 2008-09, and also played on the band’s albums Sam’s Town (2006) and Day and Age (2008).
The Killers released statement via Twitter following Marth’s passing: “Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There’s a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy.”
Marth is survived by his parents and two siblings. It is unclear whether he played on the Killers’ forthcoming fourth studio LP.
