Kid Rock was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of misdemeanor battery. Oh yeah, it went down at a Waffle House. The story goes that Kid Rock and his entourage arrived at Waffle House in Atlanta for some post-concert grub. During their meal a woman in Rock's group was approached by Harlen Dejon Atkins, age 39, who claimed he knew her. Words were exchanged and five members of Rock's party, including Rock himself, began to beat Atkins. The fight broke up and Rock retreated to the tour bus and drove away only to be pulled over a short distance later. Atkins was charged with a felony property damage for breaking a window during the skirmish.
Rock has long attempted to cultivate an image of being simple-minded (his first hit single was the non-sensical "Bawitdaba") and hick-oriented. After doing battle in a Waffle House, Kid Rock can consider both those angles smothered and covered. Now if T.I. could just take those machine guns to a McDonald's, Atlantic Records would officially have the most dangerous fast-food label in history.
