Didn't think your mom was into turntablism? Didn't think mine was either. But apparently moms across America love them some Kid Koala. On October 3rd, the whiz kid will be releasing the (move over, Yo La Tengo) hilariously named album Your Mom's Favorite DJ. Expect cinematic samples and other aural trickery to keep you held over until that next Avalanches album sees the light of day (if ever). It's been a decade since Koala hit the scene, and this release is meant to be a marker for that milestone. Not enough Asian-Canadian DJ fusion for you? Apparently Koala is also working on a book about a clarinet-playing mosquito. Because there are so many of those flying around these days.
