Kid Koala Dropping Graphic Novel/Soundtrack, ‘Space Cadet,’ In September

While many of us know producer/DJ Kid Koala for his solo material and work with Deltron 3030 and Lovage, he’s also got some skills when it comes to the visual arts. Of course, anyone who has seen his impressive live show already knows that he really knows how to complement his turntablism with projected images and the like.

But this September, he is looking to showcase his talents as an author and graphic artist with Space Cadet. The graphic novel is 132 pages long and tells an adventure story of the relationship between technology and isolation, according to a press release. It also explores the concept of family and how we connect with one another, which is all propelled by an original soundtrack featuring Koala playing various instruments from piano to, of course, the turntables.

The graphic novel and soundtrack drop Sept. 19 on Ninja Tune. You can view the track listing and watch a trailer for Space Cadet below.
