Posting on his website this weekend, Stephen O'Malley has revealed to us that Khanate, his doom metal project, has decided to call it quits after six years. Here's the message in full:
"Recent discussions have dictated a direction where Khanate has called it a day. Thanks for the six years of attention, interest, touring, megastructure and tension. We will continue to pursue the release of our 4th studio work (which is in the mixing phase) and the Japanese reissues of our first two releases, via Daymare."
Sad news, I guess, but as long as his drone outfit Sunn 0))) is here to stay (and by all accounts it is) then I think we'll all survive. After the jump West Coasters and people in the UK can see if Sunn 0))) will be payng them a visit in October.
