Kevin Barnes shares some stories from the road
Via: Stereogum
Posting what will we hope be the first in an ongoing series, Of Montreal frontman Kevin Barnes shares some stories from the band's current tour on the Of Montreal MySpace page. The entire thing makes for a quirky, interesting read, but the highlight is, without doubt, the following passage:
"our show was a lot of fun. the highlights for me were the debut of the three headed tiger bull and the first live performance of "the past is a grotesque animal". the low point was when a group of misguided creeps chanted "steak, steak, steak" after we played "wraith pinned to the mist". it just proves,no matter how much you want to add something positive to the world, there will always be people who try to bring you down. not to say our selling of a song to a corporate steak house was something positive, but sometimes you have to suck a little dick to get by. that's just a hard fact of life. but really, of all the evil organizations out there, it's hard to imagine the thought process behind heckling of Montreal. oh well."
I couldn't agree more. Be sure to catch Of Montreal live at one of the dates linked to above. The band puts on one hell of a show.

Of Montreal

[...] Since now is such a great great time to be a young music man not afraid of applying a little makeup (see: My Chemical Romance, AFI, Panic! At the Disco, and even Of Montreal), Placebo’s Meds, originally released last year on Astralwerks, will see new life on Virgin. It will be amongst tomorrow’s massive slew of releases, which seems like a strange decision, similar to if Bewitched was put back out there this summer to contend with Spiderman 3 and Shrek the 3rd. To try to compete, the re-release will of course be bulked up with bonus tracks. Three more tracks appear in all, including a cover of Kate Bush’s “Running up that Hill” as well as Placebo originals “Lazarus” and “UNEEDMEMORETHANINEEDU” (dig the MySpace post screaming spelling!). So, good luck tomorrow to Brian Molko and the rest of the band.            [...]

» Virgin to give out more of Placebo’s

Looking forward to seeing this band on tour.
