Kenny Rogers Music Second to None at Healing Stroke Victims

Already a fashion icon, chicken magnate, and passable cowboy actor, singer Kenny Rogers can now add "mystical healer" to his already long list of nomeclature. Researchers at Imperial College London found that patients recovering from strokes did markedly better in their rehabilitation when listening to Rogers' music. The strange part is that the smooth, smooth narrative country of Rogers worked its magic no matter the music taste of the particular patient, and researchers tried other recordings, including The Flying Burrito Brothers and Frank Sinatra, and could find no other music that had the same healing effects. Rogers' music was so effective, in fact, that the researchers are considering calling the phenomenon the "Kenny Rogers Effect." This much better than the previous Kenny Rogers Effect, which was a cover band who played "The Gambler," "Lady," and then acted out three scenes from Six Pack . [ Wired ]

I already knew this about Kenny and his healing ways.

It should be stroke survivors not victims.

I hope this brings about a Kenny-sance.
