The "Hallyu Wave" (Korean Wave) has taken off in the United States and it doesn't look like it's slowing down anytime soon. A few years ago, artists such as BoA and Rain imprinted Korean entertainment on American soil with their exciting brand of K-pop. In recent years artists such as The Wondergirls have toured the United States, Girls Generation has performed on live television (Letterman and Live with Kelly) and 2NE1 have been making their marks with appearances on MTV. On top of that Korean dramas, fashion, cinema and food has infiltrated many homes. The "Hallyu Wave" in essence is all things Korean.
KCON hopes to bring together all the Hallyu Wave fans by presenting the first-ever large scale convention focusing on all things Hallyu. Produced by Mnet, Korea's youth culture television channel, KCON is going to be an immersive event containing autograph sessions, panels with celebrities, fan workshops and contests. The event will be capped off with an all-star K-pop concert giving the American youth an experience like never before.
KCON is scheduled to occur October 13, 2012 at the Verizon Amphitheater in Anaheim, California. Tickets start at $40.00 and will go on sale August 24, 2012. Go to www.kconusa.com for more information.
