A radio station in New Zealand has used Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” to create a new world record. Female listeners to the Edge were offered the chance to win a trip to a Perry concert in Melbourne, and all they had to do was make out with another girl. Perry’s bi-curious anthem inspired 240 girls to show up to the event, creating a new world record when they all kissed for 20 seconds. The huge make out session took place in 17 locations across New Zealand and each kisser was given a Strawberry Chapstick to give the event a fruity tang. The Edge’s website has plenty of pictures from the event, which we here at Prefix have been perusing for…um…research purposes? A same-sex kissing world record has never been set before, and the website GayNZ.com is looking to speak to anyone who took part. [Perez]
