Karen O Reveals Where The Wild Things Are Soundtrack Details

Spike Jonze’s adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are is due for release on October 16, and will be preceded by the film’s soundtrack in September. The album is billed to Karen O and the Kids, with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer drawing on some of her famous friends to help get the job done.

Nick Zinner and Brian Chase both feature on the soundtrack, and they are joined by Jack Lawrence of the Raconteurs, Aaron Hemphill of Liars, Bradford Cox of Deerhunter/Atlas Sound and Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age. "I got involved because of Spike," Karen told MTV. "I guess there is a childlike innocence about my music or my persona that he always just kind of dialed into.”

The track “All is Love” will be released as a single from the album on August 25, with the soundtrack following on September 29. "To play on it was a really amazing experience and I think what he has accomplished with the film is basically the impossible,” she said. “There's a lot of stuff that they told me Spike couldn't do that he did it anyway, and it was a really inspiring and exciting thing to be a part of."
