While the Republicans are having a hard time even getting the Wallflowers into town for their convention, the Barack Obama music express just keeps on rolling. After getting mad musical props early from the likes of Arcade Fire and his love objects Wilco, Obama’s victory lap at the Democratic national convention has an early slant toward hip-hop. Now that the convention’s official wireless provider AT&T can breathe easy with the passage of legislation protecting call monitoring, it's focusing on landing acts for the four day event. The biggest news so far is that the RIAA and Bono’s One Campaign are close to bringing Kanye West to town for an exclusive party. Also in the mix early are Wyclef and N.E.R.D., who will make appearances for MTV and Rock the Vote. There has been no official word on whether Barack Obama has any of these artists on his iPod.
