Kanye West’s ‘Cruel Summer’ Gets Release Date

It’s always hard to predict where Kanye West will head next, but this one’s even more of a curveball than usual: According to NME (via UK tabloid The Sun), a person close to West has revealed that the superstar “has become so obsessed with roars, barks, and jungle noises that he’s experimenting with putting them on a recording.” Apparently West has been going around called this his next “ingenious plan.”

Has he gone completely Dewey Cox on us? Hard to say, but in more rational news, there’s finally a hard release date for West’s G.O.O.D. Music comp. Pusha T revealed on Funkmaster Flex’s radio show that Cruel Summer will drop on August 7, featuring the aforementioned “Mercy” and guests like John Legend, Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Mos Def, and many, many more.
