Kanye West to star in "Ed in '08" campaign-issue PSAs

The Kanye West Foundation has partnered with the Strong American Schools philanthropy project in order to urge presidential candidates to focus on education in the upcoming 2008 elections. Kanye himself will appear in the Ed in '08 PSAs asking each candidate to make education improvement an important part of his or her campaigns. The rapper is also scheduled to appear with his mother, Dr. Donda West, at a live Ed in '08 event; Dr. West has even prepared a special rap for the event: "If you really want to be real cool, / stay in school, don't act a fool." Just kidding!
Anyways, I can't tell if this is jarring or fitting for the man whose albums seem to vaguely condemn America's system of higher education and those who participate in it. I guess I would've been more surprised if Kanye didn't open his big mouth about the '08 elections, though.

At least Kanye West talks about something other than the size of his wallet. The only real problem I have with him talking about his political views is that now 50 Cent will have to cobble together a response.

50 Cent: talking about political stuff must mean that Kanye is gay
