Is it possible that MTV could already have forgiven Kanye West for the Taylor Swift incident at last year’s Video Music Awards? It appears so, as rumors are gathering pace that the hip-hop star will appear on the show this year, meaning all that hard work West did to apologize may actually have paid off.
In fact, the VMAs may act as a springboard of sorts for West to launch full on into the promo duties for his new record, which is now set for release in November. The VMAs are due to be staged on Sept. 12, although any carefully orchestrated campaign by West’s record label could be disrupted by the errant star.
“This shit I got in studio now don't make no sense Ima leak this shit 2mrw !!!” he posted on Twitter yesterday, no doubt causing anxiety among everyone who works for him. He has also tweeted about making “surprise performances” this year in the buildup to the album, and his participation in the VMAs would certainly be classed in that category after last year’s debacle.

MTV probably forgave Kanye the moment they noticed that 2009 was the most widely discussed VMA's since, well, ever.
Why are we still pretending that that Taylor Swift thing was "real." That was obviously staged. And it gives Kanye a new narrative for his album.
