Kanye West and Jay-Z might have just settled the copyright suit brought against them by Syl Johnson, but it looks like one of them (or his legal team, at least) is going to be in court again soon. Yeezy has been sued over an alleged uncleared sample used on his remix of "Girls Girls Girls" that appeared on his 2006 mixtape, Freshmen Adjustment Vol. 2.
He's being sued by Robert Poindexter, of the Persuaders, whose "Trying Girls Out" was sampled on the remix. He says that West is aware that the sample wasn't clear, because another portion of the track was used on the original "Girls Girls Girls." Poindexter goes on to claim that he has tried to get in touch with West to settle this out of court, but he's been able to do so. He's looking for $500,000 in damages. [AHH]
