Kanye West Does Taylor Swift BOGUS at the VMAs, Delivers Apology (Video)

It's a cliché but it's true: history repeats itself. Sunday night at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West put on his stagecrashing cap and interrupted Taylor Swift as she accepted the Best Female Video Moonman for "You Belong With Me," to complain that "Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time." Even if you agree with the central point of Kanye's argument (which I do, even though I immensely enjoy the Taylor Swift clip), it's pretty hard to deny the fact that it was pretty wack of Kanye to spoil a teenage girl's moment in the spotlight. Kanye himself doesn't even deny it, as he posted an apology on his blog pretty soon afterwards (it has since been removed).

Considering that he gets the meaning of the "she's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers" mixed up, the sincerity of that apology is a little bit suspect, but Beyonce's decision to let Swift finish her speech after Beyonce won Video of the Year seemed genuine enough, especially since Beyonce looked aghast when Kanye hi-jacked Swift's speech.

Still seems pretty fake to me.

The way that Taylor Swift dominated the next 10 minutes of the show (she performed in a subway, she was the featured artist in a Rhapsody ad) seemed like a way for people to get behind her in a way MTV has never gotten behind country artists. Also, she was totally backstage and ready to go on when Beyonce won the last award, which is also totally suspish.

Well, MTV gets behind artists who sell records/used to be relevant, and Taylor Swift definitely falls into the former. Also, I don't think we were expected to believe that Taylor Swift didn't know that Beyonce was going to let her finish during Beyonce's speech. While I think it's completely possible that the whole thing was staged, I guess I'm not cynical enough to discount it completely.

If we weren't expected to believe that, then how come they made a big to do about it like it was surprise for everyone? She totally knew, otherwise why wasn't she off sitting in the crowd?

mtv told swift to come stand backsatge and she did not know what was going on. beyonce told mtv what she wanted to do..

Not to sound redundant, but calling this a half ass apology is insulting. This isn't an apology. This is a witless response and self praise on what he did.

No, I don't think we were supposed to be think that Taylor Swift just "happened" to be backstage. Of course she would've been told beforehand, or else why would she have been back there. Also, everything else suggests that this wasn't staged. Kanye left RCMH after he stormed the stage, people said they saw taylor swift and her mom backstage crying, and Taylor Swift is awkward as hell. As someone who's paid a fair amount of attention to her, she's real real awkward, and I don't think she'd be able to play off being disappointed and confused as well as she did last night if it weren't genuine.

You just wuv her too much to think she might be doing the fakity.
