K-pop Group Wonder Girls Joins The Spice Girls As One Of The ‘Best Girl Groups of All Time’ In ‘US Weekly’

Before PSY started charting on the Billboard charts, K-pop girl group the Wonder Girls were the first to do so with their song “Nobody.” The song debuted at #76 on October 31, 2009. It sold over 319,00 physical copies of the single as well as over 80,000 downloads. The group had also performed with Justin Bieber and The Jonas Brothers as they promoted that single.

As the group prepares new English material, they recently have been selected as one of “The Best Girl Groups of All Time” by ‘US Weekly’. They join a list of groups including the Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child and TLC.

     The article states:

“The South Korean girl-group formed by Yubin, [Yenny], [Sun], Sohee and [Lim] formed in 2007 and soon released their debut single, ‘Irony’. Other singles include ‘Tell Me‘ and ‘This Fool‘. Throughout the 2000s, the group suffered many member rotations, though they are the first Korean group to ever enter the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.”

If you’re dying to hear new material from the group, they recently performed three new songs in New York at the iHeartRadio Theater. Click here to watch the live performances.
