K-os: Sunday Morning (Video)

Everything I love and hate about the k-os experience seems to be present in this video. On the one hand, there's the amazing production, the cool visual aesthetic, K-os's vocals. On the other hand, there are more lyrics with excessively preachy/moral/religious overtones and more references to outer space and an '80s B-boy culture that has long since passed.
What also confuses me to no end is what appears to be a commentary on race relations. The video is set in a '50s style dance complete with segregation, but this time a group of French-speaking white hipsters (from Montreal?) are relegated to the basement to dance while the persons of color are the privileged bunch. Is he trying to say that white people are being held down? Is he suggesting that white people underground are now the cooler, hipper trendsetters? Maybe he's literally trying to tell us that there are intelligent human lifeforms in outer space, where the black man reigns supreme. Whatever it is, I don't quite get what he or directorial group the Love Movement were going for.
But this is one of my favorite tracks off the album, which comes out in the U.S. later this year (and is already out in Canada), and when taken at face value, the video is entertaining. So I'll take the good with the not so good.

i completely agree. I actually noticed this the first time i watched the video ( the segregation) it was really just strange. I don't know what they were going for but the song is amazing none the less.

I don't see what the big deal is really. Hipster-y white people dance and party differntly than Black people at a funky semi-formal affairs. Look it up. Besides, everyone knows all the real fun happens in space anyway. Stop reading into **** so much.
