Here's hoping Justice never get tired of bullying computers into playing rock'n'roll. On a track that rivals "Waters of Nazareth," the Ed Banger extraordinaires deliver another slab of hand-clapping disco rock that's got one hand on a keyboard and the other on the E string. For two minutes, "Phantom" builds on and glitches out over a "step-up, step-down" workout video riff that hits like a defibrillator. Then the bottom drops out into a growling digital breakdown that's bound to get people all across the globe making mean "I dance hard" faces like they make when they get drunk and excited. And then, unfortunately, it ends. The only existing version of the song is an incomplete one from the Alors les filles en fete Noel? mixtape, so as is, we'll theoretically only know if the breakdown delivers sometime in March, when the song is released as the first single from Justice's debut full-length.
But we'd say it's a pretty safe bet.
Justice - "Phantom"

Check it out- if you want to hear the full length of the track, google Annie Mac. She's a BBC 1 radio host on Friday nights. Back on Dec. 15th, she dropped the full version of Phantom, post break-down and all. Or, if you've recently caught Justice "live" in the past few months (like I did) you got to hear this amazing track played out in a proper club setting. Amazing.
