Julian Casablancas’ debut solo album, Phrazes for the Young, may pack a few surprises if the ‘80s synthpop of “11th Dimension” is a clue to its direction. The record is due for release on Nov. 3 and was recorded at multiple locations across the country with the aid of producer Jason Lader.
Casablancas’ unusual promotional schedule for the album has included a full playback of the record in Tokyo, and he will undertake further promo duties when he takes up a residency in Los Angeles during November. The Strokes singer will play the Palace Theatre on consecutive Fridays, which means you can catch him there on Nov. 6, 13, 20, and 27.
