Matador Records is throwing a launch party for Interpol frontman Paul Banks’ forthcoming solo record tonight (July 30). The event takes place at the Ace Hotel in New York City, where the album will be played in full, and complimentary bourbon cocktails will be available between 8-9pm (see below for more details).

For anyone too inebriated to pay much attention to the album, or folks who can’t make it to the event, Banks’ enigmatically named Julian Plenti is…Skyscraper album is currently streaming over at Rhapsody. The musical backing may be slightly different from his ventures with Interpol, but Banks’ distinctive voice remains much the same.
