Pearl Jam doesn’t have to do the typical press circuit you see most bands doing just before the release of a new album. They’re Pearl Jam. Even if you don’t listen to Pearl Jam, you know who they are. Honestly, even your mother is likely to recognize their name.
They don’t have to sweat about sales. They’ve sold 60 million records worldwide. So instead of plastering their face on every site and screen, they sat down with Judd Apatow (Yes, that Judd Apatow, known for directing 40 Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up and producing every other successful comedy show or film for the past decade or so) for NPR Music.
The results were long, but lovely, and can be seen below. Lightning Bolt will be released Oct. 15, but you can stream the full album here.
