Queens of the Stone Age bassist Dean Fertita (who just spoke to us about his HELLO=FIRE project) recently mentioned that recording the followup to Era Vulgaris is his "number one priority." Since that time, rumors regarding the details of Queens of the Stone Age next album have clogged the blogosphere. Frontman Josh Homme has finally weighed in on the matter, stating that the new material will be out "this year" in a BBC Radio 1 interview.
As far as details go, that's pretty much the only information Homme gave. He did, however, talk about the recording process ("there's no shortage of ideas. We're trying to filter the best of the best"). Despite the lack of revelations about new material, the interview will definitely appeal to Homme fans.
