The collaboration between Queens of the Stone Age mainman Josh Homme and scraggly English rockers the Arctic Monkeys may seem like an unusual match. But Homme has produced their upcoming album Humbug, which was partly recorded in the Mojave Desert in California.
"I was sucked in at first by the lyrics,” Homme told GQ Magazine. “Alex sounded like a rare poet playing music–he has a special gift for the gab. This is the record where they get weird, grow up and trip out.” A new experimental edge will certainly make Humbug a more attractive proposition than the Arctic Monkeys drab second album, Favourite Worst Nightmare.
The guys behind Simian Mobile Disco also worked on the album, and they are talking up the new direction undertaken in Humbug. "They’re progressing and moving forward, trying to change, push themselves and push their audience, which I think is rare in a lot of bands today,” they said. “They’ve just got more relaxed with themselves—they’re comfortable doing what they’re doing.”

haha i dunno about that brad, homme even hates the term "stoner rockers" lol it just sounds so lame and qotsa music is so much better than that lable and I do mean that in the sweetest way possible:) That being said this album is very good and different, I love it*
