I imagine it must get tiring for Jonsi Birgisson to have to answer questions about what his solo album (the recently released Go) means for the future of Sigur Ros, when it probably just means there won't be a new Sigur Ros album until next year at the earliest. Which is basically what the dude said in a new interview, saying that the earlier reports of Sigur Ros taking an "indefinite hiatus" were exaggerated, and the band plans to begin work on a new album later this year:
"I don't even know where this word comes from," he told Spinner backstage at Coachella. "I didn't say that. I never heard this word before in my life." In fact, he believes Sigur Ros will be getting back to work this year. "I'm gonna record some other stuff with Sigur Ros when I'm home," he said.
LOLZ to never hearing "indefinite." But there you have it, fans of glacier-like Icelandic post-rock. Sigur Ros: Not breaking up. [Spinner]
he was probably referring to the word 'hiatus' in which case it isn't too ridiculous for someone whose first language is not english to have never heard it.
