In the theory that two legendary singer-songwriters performing the same night are better than one, Jonathan Richman and Vic Chesnutt have announced plans for a joint tour. The jaunt kicks off in Chesnutt's hometown of Athens, Georgia, on the first of March. Chesnutt will be supporting his album from last year, North Star Deserter, which he made with a bunch of folks from the Canadian avant-garde rock scene. Richman hasn't had an album of new material since 2004's Not So Much to Loveas to Love, but he has been touring heavily of late, so it's possible he's working the final kinks out of some new material.
